The Reliant Stadium retractable roof consists of two translucent, fabric covered panels that meet directly over the 50-yard line when in the closed position, and and are driven by a traction drive system to the open position. A 4-bar linkage lateral release system accommodates relative movement between the roof panels and the fixed building structure. The retractable roof is operated using a computer control system. |
