Retractable Awnings at Soho Beach House

In 2017, during a routine maintenance service call to the Soho Beach House hotel, the owners were introduced to the advanced features and benefits of the improved En-Fold® retractable awning system and shortly thereafter contracted Uni-Systems to design and install two new custom retractable canopy systems for the hotel to replace two original retractable canopies, which had been Uni-Systems' inaugural En-Fold® installation in 2010. Since this first En-Fold® installation, Uni-Systems has updated the En-Fold with many improvements including enhanced protection from salt air corrosion in marine environments like Miami Beach.

The enduring quality and performance of this inaugural installation of these two original En-Fold® retractable canopies served as the impetus for the development of Uni-Systems' patented and award winning En-Fold® retractable fabric awning system.

The new Courtyard En-Fold® canopy at Soho Beach House covers a three-sided enclosed dining terrace and measures roughly 32’ in extension by 73’ wide. Another new En-fold® canopy measuring approximately 34’ in extension by 33’ wide protects the Club Bar on the second-floor roof terrace.

The modular design and variety of En-Fold® connection bracket options allowed the designers to fit the new En-Fold® product to the existing structural steel that was used to support the original canopy units. While being very similar in size and outward appearance to the original canopy units, the new En-Fold® units are vastly superior in terms of strength, durability, appearance and performance.
